In 2022, Labcorp purchased select assets of Ascension’s outreach laboratory business. As part of the acquisition, Labcorp also manages the health system’s hospital-based laboratories through a long-term agreement to provide staffing, leadership, scientific knowledge, analytics, supply chain services and laboratory support in 10 states, including Kansas.  

Since the close of the transaction, Labcorp Kansas, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Labcorp, has been operating the lab of the former Affiliated Medical Services Laboratories Inc. (AMS Labs) at 2916 Central Ave, Wichita, KS.
